Glasgow Rangers manager Steven Gerrard reportedly wants Everton’s Kieran Dowell at Ibrox as a direct replacement for Ovie Ejaria, who has gone back to Liverpool.

Rangers are interested in signing Dowell on loan from Premier League club Everton in the January transfer window, according to The Scottish Sun.
It has been reported that Rangers manager Gerrard sees the 21-year-old attacking midfielder as a direct replacement for Ovie Ejaria.
Ejaria joined the Gers on loan from Liverpool in the summer transfer window, but the 21-year-old midfielder has returned to his parent club.
Ball, who played for both Everton and Rangers, has given his take on speculation on the future of Dowell.
“With the way Rangers want to play under Steven Gerrard, they need a link man between the midfield and attack and Kieran could be the perfect player for that,” Ball wrote in The Liverpool Echo about Dowell.
Ball added: “Playing for Rangers in the second-half of the season would be an excellent move for Dowell if his chances continue to be limited at Everton.”

Rangers move
Dowell is struggling for playing time at Everton at the moment, and it would make sense for the youngster to join Rangers on loan for the second half of the season.
The attacking midfielder did well during his loan spell at Nottingham Forest in the Championship during the 2017-18 campaign, and he needs to play regularly to improve and progress.
