Michael Ball comments on Kevin Mirallas speculation

Everton winger Kevin Mirallas has been linked with a move away from Goodison Park in the January transfer window.

Everton winger Kevin Mirallas will decide on his future after the club appoint a new manager, according to a recent report in The Liverpool Echo.

David Unsworth is in temporary charge of the first team, having been placed in the role following the dismissal of Ronald Koeman.

The 30-year-old winger has made just one start in the Premier League for the Toffees so far this season.

During the 2016-17 campaign, the Belgium international started 23 league games for Everton.

According to The Liverpool Echo, Mirallas could push for a move away from Goodison Park in the January transfer window, and will wait until a new permanent manager is decided before making his decision.

The Mirror has claimed that new West Ham manager David Moyes is keeping tabs on the winger and is interested in signing him in the January transfer window.

Moyes signed Mirallas for Everton in the summer of 2012, with the Toffees paying Olympiakos a transfer fee of £6 million, as reported by BBC Sport.

Former Everton defender Michael Ball has given his take on speculation surrounding the future of Mirallas and has some harsh words for the winger.

“I’ve read suggestions that Kevin Mirallas will decide on his Everton future after a new boss is named,” Ball wrote in The Liverpool Echo. “Well, I don’t think he deserves to be the one in calling the shots.

“Player power is massive in modern day football and I don’t have a problem with it – as long as that player has earned the right to have it. I don’t think Mirallas has.

“If Everton want to move him on in January then it’s up to them and they should not be dictated to by any player. Everton are bigger than any individual.”
