Micah Richards has commented on Richarlison after the Tottenham forward’s tattoos became a topic of conversation.
The Brazil international has been in the spotlight after finally scoring his first Premier League goal for Spurs in Sunday’s thrilling 4-3 defeat to Liverpool.
Now – however – Richards has shared his thoughts on the South American’s tattoos.
What’s the story?
Well, Richarlison has a tattoo of Ronaldo, Neymar and himself etched across his back, which Richards thinks is “a bit ridiculous” as he revealed on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Monday Night Club.
The 34-year-old said: “It’s a bit ridiculous. R9, legend of the game. Neymar, outstanding player, but Neymar is his teammate. It’s like me getting a tattoo of Daniel Sturridge!”
Neymar probably does find it a bit odd to see his own face on the back of Richarlison while getting changed in the Brazil dressing room.
Nevertheless, the Paris Saint-Germain No.10 should see it as a compliment, and a sign that he is a footballing icon even among those close to being the same age as him.
Richarlison must kick on at Tottenham now
After finally scoring his first Premier League goal for Spurs on Sunday, Richarlison must kick on and have a strong end to the season, before really making a name for himself in N17 next term.
£60m was not a small amount of money to spend on his services, and the £175,000-a-week salary packet is also one of the largest paid by Tottenham.

Therefore, it is important that Richarlison knuckles down during pre-season this summer and ensures he is in the best possible shape to take the 2023/24 campaign by storm and repay his transfer fee.
The 25-year-old is likely to have a blank slate at Tottenham this summer when Daniel Levy eventually appoints a new permanent replacement for Antonio Conte, and if he suffers another underwhelming campaign, he could end up being offloaded in the summer of 2024.
