Micah Richards has claimed that he felt ‘sorry’ for Dejan Kulusevski, from a defensive standpoint, during Tottenham’s 3-2 win against Manchester City on Saturday, as he told Saturday Night Football on Sky Sports.

The former right-back claimed that Emerson Royal was being exposed down his side and, as result, it wasn’t helping out Kulusevski.

Tottenham’s new boy actually opened the scoring at the Etihad following a quite delightful piece of play from Harry Kane, before he was fed through from Son to open his account in the Premier League.

Man City hit back in the same half, before Kane got on the scoresheet himself in the second and then Riyad Mahrez equalised late on for the hosts via the penalty spot.

But that’s when the north London club hit the drama button and Kane headed in his second of the evening in stoppage-time to seal a quite stunning three points for his team.

Nonetheless, this is what Richards had to say about Man City’s attack down the right-hand side of Tottenham’s yesterday.

“Cancelo has been outstanding,” said Richards. “Sterling started on the right, then he came onto the left. Just can’t deal with him.

“I feel a little sorry for Kulusevski defensively. Emerson Royal is staying a little bit deep. But they are exposing that side.”

After all the talk surrounding Tottenham heading into this game, this is quite the response from Conte and his players.

Many were questioning whether the Italian is unhappy, well, judging by the performance against the Premier League champions, they shut all that talk off.

In the summer, there was a lot of well-documented noise around Kane being wanted by Man City.

And after a season of indifferent performances from the Englishman, he produced his best of the campaign by far against the team that wanted him most.
