Douglas Luiz made his full debut for Aston Villa on Saturday.

Micah Richards has lauded the ‘special’ Douglas Luiz for his ‘unbelievable’ goal for Aston Villa as they were beaten 2-1 by Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.
Defensive-midfielder Luiz was making his full debut for Villa, and the game didn’t start off in the best manner for him or his new teammates because they were 2-0 down after 10 minutes.
Luiz was at fault for the second goal, but in the second half, he netted a wonderful curling effort from outside of the area, but that wasn’t enough to secure all three points for his team.
Speaking to Final Score on BBC One (17/08/2019), the recently retired Richards was full of praise for Luiz after he netted on his debut.
“Unbelievable,” Richards told Final Score. “Before Douglas was at fault for one of the goals, so he maybe tried to do a little bit of a dummy.

“He’s redeemed himself with that goal and it’s a special, special goal to score on your Premier League debut with Aston Villa, so well played to the lad – Grealish again got the assist.”
Despite back-to-back defeats, there are still a lot of positives to take for Dean Smith’s side, but they will be well aware that they need to cut out the individual mistakes.
If that can happen then things will fall into place for the Midlands outfit, who will now turn their attention to taking on Everton next Friday.
