Sadio Mane helped Liverpool to three points over the weekend.
Micah Richards claims Sadio Mane doesn’t get enough credit as he praised the Liverpool man for proving his worth after ‘questions were asked of him’ prior to his move from Southampton.
Former Manchester City right-back Richards stated that Mane is an ‘unbelievable’ talent as he shared that he ‘loves to watch him’ in action.
Well, during Liverpool’s past two matches, Mane has been showcasing his talent as he helped Jurgen Klopp’s side to a Super Cup win over Chelsea then three points against Southampton.
Speaking on Final Score on BBC One (17/08/2019 at 5:15 pm), Richards was full of praise for Mane after he scored and assisted over the weekend.
“For me, Mane is up there amongst the top of the league now,” Richards told Final Score. “I think the last two seasons have showed that. He was undeliverable [against Chelsea]. Then [against Southampton] it was a flash of brilliance.
“Everyone is maybe thinking about Salah too much. He gets the ball from the left, cuts in, great finish in the top corner and he has brought that. What he has brought, he is more consistent with it now.
“At Southampton, a lot of questions were asked about him, ‘is he good enough to step up to the top four teams’. European winner. He’s been unbelievable. And I love to watch him.”
Liverpool have a stunning front three in Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah, with the two wide players scoring 20+ goals each last season.
It could be argued that Salah is perhaps the most talked about from the trio, but there’s no doubt that they are both devastating attackers.
Their performances helped Liverpool win the Champions League last season, and now they will be looking for that elusive Premier League crown.
