Mexican vape laws 2026 ahead of England World Cup clash, punishments include eight years in prison

England will face Mexico in their World Cup round of 16 game after beating DR Congo.

Harry Kane’s brace means that they face the daunting task of playing at the Azteca against one of the co-hosts, who are yet to concede a goal this tournament.

It will be the first time that the Three Lions have ventured out of the USA for a game and they will therefore be subjected to some new laws, including ones on vaping.

Can I vape in Mexico?

Following a law brought into effect in January 2026, it is now deemed illegal to import, sell, or distribute vapes in Mexico.

The law is nationwide and includes all vaping devices, as well as refillable liquids. Nicotine and nicotine-free vaping products are also prohibited.

Tourists travelling to Mexico are advised to not bring a vape device or any vaping equipment into the country.
