Arsenal attacking midfielder Mesut Ozil has responded to Lucas Torreira’s post on Instagram.
Torreira has taken to Instagram to express his delight at joining Atletico Madrid from Arsenal on a loan deal.
The 24-year-old midfielder moved to Spanish club Atletico on a season-long loan deal from Premier League side Arsenal on transfer deadline day on Monday.
The Uruguay international has posted the following message on Instagram, which when translated from Spanish reads: “Very happy and proud to join this great team and become en colchonero. Ready and eager to start this new adventure. Thank you @atleticodemadrid for trusting me. A big hug to all the fans for the show of affection, we will see each other very soon.”
Ozil has responded: “Enjoy there bro.”
Good move for Lucas Torreira?
Torreira did well during his time at Arsenal, and although he was not exactly great for the past two seasons, he did his job efficiently enough.
According to WhoScored, Torreira made 17 starts in the Premier League and played 344 minutes in the Europa League for Arsenal last season.
However, it seems that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta does not have him in his plans, and the Uruguay international will be looking to show what he can do during his time in Spain.
Atletico are a big and ambitious club who will be aiming to win the La Liga title and also make an impact in the Champions League.
Diego Simeone is a very good manager who can get the best out of Torreira.
