Wilshere departed Arsenal to join Bournemouth on loan on deadline day.

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has told German newspaper Express he is eyeing up Jack Wilshere’s number ten shirt at the club.
Wilshere made a surprise deadline day move to Bournemouth, joining the Cherries on a season-long loan deal.
While his departure is a temporary one, it means that the often coveted number ten shirt has become available for this season.
That is the number Ozil currently has for the German national team, having taken it off Lukas Podolski following his international retirement.

And he says he wants to replicate that by taking it off Wilshere at the Emirates also.
“It just went free, and I definitely want it,” he told German newspaper Express.
“The number fits me and my position: play-maker. It’s my favourite number. Football legends like Zinedine Zidane, Diego Maradona and Pele wore that number on their backs. I’m really very happy to have it.”

It remains to be seen if Arsenal give Ozil what he wants and hand him the number ten shirt this season.
He is yet to sign a new deal at the Emirates, despite their obvious desire to get him locked into a longer deal at the club.
As ridiculous as it may sound, perhaps offering that number ten shirt as a sweetener in negotiations would be a clever move for the Gunners to make.
