A month unbeaten had Arsenal fans leaving the Emirates with smiles on their faces. Performances such as a 3-0 home with against rivals Chelsea, and a commanding performance in Europe against FC Basel, showed that the Gunners were something to get excited about. Ozil’s finish against Chelsea stood out, topping off a number of excellent personal performances.

Arsenal were also starting finding ways to win. Performances such as the 1-0 over Burnley at the beginning of October, where Arsenal had to overcome a side set-up to defend, highlighted the Gunners new found relentlessness.

But Ozil’s vision wasn’t going to be the talking point for Gunners fans in October. Instead, it was going to be his goals. Hosting Ludogorets in the Champions League, Arsenal fans were treated to Ozil’s arguably greatest performance since he’s been at the club.

Ozil’s third goal caught headlines worldwide. After catching hold of a long ball forward, Ozil managed to beat the goalkeeper and three defenders, scoring what some have claimed as one of the best Champions League goals of all time.
