Mesut Ozil has spoken out in disagreement with the European Super League, after Arsenal’s decision to announce they were joining the new competition yesterday.
Ozil may not have been the most popular of all of Arsenal’s former players with the club’s board already.
And his latest statement is unlikely to endear himself any further to the management at Arsenal.
Ozil is one of the highest profile players to speak out against the Super League so far.
Arsenal’s current squad have kept their silence since the news broke last night, and Mikel Arteta has also not been drawn on the reports.
Arsenal legends have spoken out to condemn the club for signing up though.
Ian Wright was quick to say that Arsenal have been ‘shameful’ in joining the competition, while Bacary Sagna was firmly against the plans just like Ozil.
