Lord Sugar has said on Twitter that he wishes Lionel Messi would join Nuno’s Tottenham Hotspur instead of moving to Paris Saint-Germain.
The former Tottenham chairman has responded to Messi’s farewell press conference at Barcelona today.
The Argentina international forward is leaving Barcelona on a free transfer this summer.
Former Tottenham chairman Lord Sugar has said that Messi should come to Spurs, as fans of the North London club cry all the time, so he would fit in well.
Lord Sugar’s comments are obviously light-hearted and are probably meant as regret that Tottenham do not tend to win big trophies.

Spurs could have won the Premier League title twice under Mauricio Pochettino and also reached the Champions League final in 2019.
Messi is not going to join Tottenham.
Well, nothing can be said with certainty in the transfer window unless a player has signed on the dotted line.

Messi is actually on his way to PSG, who are now managed by former Tottenham head coach Pochettino.
The Argentine forward himself said today the Ligue 1 club are a possibility.
BBC Sport have reported that Messi’s representatives are in talks with PSG.
