Fabrizio Romano has claimed on Twitter that Lionel Messi is about to join Paris Saint-Germain after leaving Barcelona.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has reported that Messi has reached a total agreement with PSG.

The former Barcelona forward will sign a two-year contract worth €35 million (£29.61m) net per season.

There will also be the option to extend the contract until June 2024.

The SkySport and The Guardian journalist has reported that Messi will be in Paris in the next few hours.

What a signing for PSG!

Of course, until and unless a player has signed on the dotted line, you cannot say for sure that a transfer has been completed.

After all, in the transfer window anything is possible.

However, Romano is a trusted source, and him using his well-known phrase ‘Here we go’ in his tweet suggests that the transfer is as good as done.

Messi would be an absolutely stunning signing for PSG.

The Argentine is one of the greatest players of all time, and he would make Mauricio Pochettino’s side even better.

Remember, PSG already have forwards Kylian Mbappe and Neymar in their team.

The Ligue 1 giants also signed Sergio Ramos on a free transfer this summer.
