Fernando Llorente joined Tottenham Hotspur from Swansea City in the summer transfer window.

Harry Kane is the first-choice striker at Tottenham at the moment, and given the way manager Mauricio Pochettino sets up his team, the England international is unlikely to be paired with Llorente in too many matches.

The 32-year-old Spain international striker scored 15 goals and provided one assist in 28 Premier League starts for the Swans last season.
The former Juventus and Sevilla striker, who won the World Cup and Euro 2012 with Spain, has yet to start a game in the league for Tottenham so far this season, and has made 10 substitute appearances.
Llorente has scored one goal and provided one assist in two Champions League starts for Spurs so far this campaign.

Former Arsenal attacking midfielder Merson has suggested that Spurs were able to sign Llorente in the summer because he does not mind if he does not play much.
Merson said on the Gillette Soccer Saturday show on Sky Sports News last Saturday afternoon (1:41pm, December 9, 2017): “I think he (manager Mauricio Pochettino) got Llorente on the strength that he doesn’t mind if he doesn’t play.”
