Former Arsenal attacking midfielder Paul Merson has suggested in The Daily Star that Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah would be tempted by the prospect of joining Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.

Merson has suggested that Spanish and European giants Madrid could come calling for the Egypt international winger.

“Gareth Bale is leaving Real Madrid this summer,” Merson wrote in The Daily Star. “They will need to buy a winger, and they’re so far behind Barcelona in Spain they will be spending big, big money.

“Well, if you want to buy a winger, then there is no-one better out there than Salah. And I’m sure he would be tempted. No question. Everyone is by Real Madrid.”

Real Madrid temptations

Madrid are arguably the biggest club in the world and have some of the best players on the planet, such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos and Isco.

Playing for the European giants is tempting for any player, and if the defending Champions League winners do come calling for Salah, then it could be tough for the 25-year-old to resist the tempting for working under Zinedine Zidane at the Santiago Bernabeu.

However, Liverpool are going places, and are likely to reach the final of the Champions League this season as well as finish in the top four of the Premier League table.

The Reds do not have sell Salah even for big money. Moreover, Salah is loved by the Anfield faithful and could become a legend if he guides the team to Champions League success this season.
