Paul Merson has written in The Daily Star that Graham Potter would suit Tottenham Hotspur if Daniel Levy sacks Nuno after the match against Aston Villa.

Tottenham will take on Villa in the Premier League this weekend.

Spurs suffered a defeat to Arsenal in the North London derby last weekend.

Tottenham, though, did win in the Europa Conference League on Thursday evening.

Former Arsenal star Merson believes that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy could sack Nuno if the team lose to Villa this weekend.

The Sky Sports pundit has added that Brighton and Hove Albion manager Potter, 46, would suit Spurs.

Paul Merson’s verdict

Merson wrote in The Daily Star: “Nuno has lost the players at Tottenham and if they lose this weekend I don’t see how he survives the international break.

“I think he’s got 90 minutes against Aston Villa to to turn it around. Daniel Levy is no mug. He knows when managers are up against it with the players.

“You can tell. Nuno has lost the dressing room already. Completely and utterly. They don’t seem that interested.”

The pundit added: “If they sack Nuno, I think Graham Potter would suit them. Spurs fans want entertaining football and that’s what you get from him at Brighton.”

Graham Potter to Tottenham Hotspur?

Potter is doing a wonderful job at Brighton, who play good football under him.

However, the Seagulls are unlikely to let go of the Englishman during the season.

Moreover, Potter himself may not be keen on taking over Tottenham amid a poor run of form in the Premier League.

It is also unlikely that Tottenham chairman Levy will sack Nuno now, even if the team lose this weekend.

After all, Nuno was appointed the Spurs head coach only in the summer of 2021.
