Paul Merson has predicted the Premier League game between David Moyes’s West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur at London Stadium this week to end in a 1-1 draw, as quoted in SportsKeeda.

West Ham and Tottenham will face each other in the London derby on Wednesday evening.

Former Arsenal star Merson believes that the game will finish in a draw.

The Sky Sports pundit has also slammed Tottenham forward Richarlison for showboating against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League this past weekend.

The Englishman believes that the £50 million Brazil international (The Guardian) was being disrespectful to the Forest players.

Paul Merson on West Ham United vs Tottenham Hotspur

Merson wrote on SportsKeeda: “West Ham got a big result against Aston Villa as they finally got their first point of the season. Tottenham, on the other hand, have got good results, but a deeper dive into their performances will tell you that they haven’t played particularly well.

“This is a London derby and the fans will be right up for this one, so I expect this to be a cracker of a contest.

“Tottenham striker Richarlison was on the news recently for being taken out by Brennan Johnson after a bit of showboating in the dying embers of the game against Forest.

“I don’t see the need for players to showboat to be honest – they all try to be Neymar or something and attempt to take the mickey out of opposition players. Fair player to Johnson for taking him out, that’s my opinion of the situation.

“If Richarlison was playing against the likes of Tony Adams and Martin Keown, I think he’d have suffered a similar fate.”

A footnote added: “Prediction: West Ham 1-1 Tottenham”

Spurs are favourites

In our opinion, Tottenham Hotspur will fancy their chances of winning the London derby against West Ham United this week.

Yes, the match is at London Stadium and the Hammers won this past weekend, but Tottenham are in better form and have a better team.

Spurs could concede a goal, but the North London club have enough firepower to score more goals than the Hammers.

True, Tottenham are not at their very best at the moment, but Spurs are getting results and winning matches even when they are not playing particularly well.

That shows the mentality of Antonio Conte’s team.
