Jon Jones appears to be making progress in mending his relationship with Dana White, a dispute that could jeopardize a potentially massive fight for ‘Bones’ next year.
The two-weight UFC champion was once the subject of memes for the high praise White had for his skills. But they have fallen out over Jones’ push for a fight at the White House next summer, something White has dismissed entirely.
The 38-year-old recently apologised for not following through on a verbal agreement to face Tom Aspinall. Regarding that, Merab Dvalishvili, who has mended his own relationship with White, believes the GOAT contender is heading in the right direction.
Merab Dvalishvili backs Jon Jones after apology to Dana White

There was a time when Dvalishvili, the current bantamweight champion, was not exactly popular with White or the UFC leadership.
He took down fan-favourite Sean O’Malley at the high-profile UFC 306 and then found himself in a few heated moments with fans in the stands.
White did not hold back, calling him “So dumb,” and even going as far as “next level stupid.” But things have changed. Dvalishvili is now one of White’s favourites, and he is on the verge of breaking the record for title defences in a single year at UFC 323.
Speaking to Bloody Elbow as part of his role with Stake, ‘The Machine’ pointed out that Jones is doing what needs to be done by apologising, and believes any lingering issues will fade once he returns to action.
“Jon Jones is doing the right thing. I saw on the internet he was apologizing actually to Dana.
“He wants to fight at the White House and Jon knows it best, he will come back, he will fight and Dana will be cool with him again.
“That’s how it always is. I’m sure when Jones comes back and wins his next fight, suddenly everything will be fixed,” Dvalishvili concluded.
