Over the years, Milner has become more methodical, disciplined and hard-hitting in his game.
The versatile Liverpool man isn’t known for his fancy skills, but as he posted on Twitter on Monday, he has been showcasing some of that in training.
Liverpool fans pointed out how Takumi Minamino was outfoxed by his older stateman and how Milner was showing the youngsters how it is done.
Throughout his career, from starting up as a fresh-faced teenager in the colours of Leeds to marshalling the troops on Merseyside in Liverpool colours.
Milner has had a stellar career by winning the lot from the Premier League title to the European Cup.
But, of course, Liverpool fans don’t want him to stop there and they want to see more from the 35-year-old.
Once again, the Elland Road academy graduate will be expected to play a bit-part role for Jurgen Klopp, but as always, he’s going to be efficient in his work and game-changing.
He has one year left on his Anfield deal, so this might just be the last dance for one of the most underrated players to have graced English football.
