Newcastle United co-owner Mehrdad Ghodoussi has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to the news that Eddie Howe has been named the Premier League Manager of the Month for February.

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe wins award

As announced on Newcastle’s official Twitter page this afternoon, Howe has been chosen as the best manager in the Premier League for last month.

During the month of February, the Magpies won 2-0 against Brentford, played out a 1-1 draw with West Ham United, beat Aston Villa 1-0 at St. James’ Park, and got the better of Everton 3-1 at home.

The Magpies are doing well in March as well.

Under Howe, Newcastle have won 2-1 against Brighton and Hove Albion at home and 2-1 against Southampton away in the Premier League this month already.

Newcastle are 14th in the Premier League table at the moment with 31 points from 27 matches.

The Magpies are now as many as 10 points above third-from-bottom Burnley, who have played 26 games.

It is now very likely that Newcastle will survive the dreaded drop to the Championship at the end of the season.

And, in our view, Howe has to be given a lot of credit for that.
