Mehrdad Ghodoussi has posted on Instagram that Newcastle United’s Allan Saint-Maximin is an ‘incredible’ player.

The Newcastle co-owner added that the flying winger is also an ‘incredible’ human being after his strong showing during his side’s 3-1 win against Everton on Tuesday night.

Whilst Saint-Maximin didn’t get on the scoresheet against the Toffees, in his own typical way, he caused Everton all sorts of problems.

When the 24-year-old runs with the ball, even he at times doesn’t know what he is going to do, so that makes the life of those facing him a lot tougher.

There’s no doubt that the 2019 Steve Bruce signing needs to add more consistency, composure and simplicity to his forward play.

But sometimes, the unpredictability in his game, is what makes him such a standout star.

It will be interesting to see, with more added quality at St James’ Park, whether or not Saint-Maximin can take his game to another level.

Perhaps he needed an attack-minded coach like Eddie Howe and more quality around him in order to reach a higher level.

And those questions will be answered during these coming months as Newcastle aim to survive and then really push on in their quest to reach the top.
