Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly about to miss out on the signing of Villarreal striker Nicolas Jackson to Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea.
Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur eye Villarreal striker Nicolas Jackson
Both Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Villarreal striker Nicolas Jackson in the summer transfer window.
According to The Sun on Sunday (18/6; page 62), Tottenham were planning to make a move for the striker.
The report claimed that former Tottenham head coach Mauricio Pochettino had personally told his Chelsea bosses to get a deal done for Jackson.
Spurs, though, were considering a bid for the 22-year-old Senegal international striker, according to the report.

Chelsea win race
However, it now seems that it is Chelsea who have won the race for Jackson.
Fabrizio Romano is reporting on Twitter this afternoon that Chelsea and Villarreal have reached full agreement over the transfer of the young striker this summer.
A medical is now being scheduled for Jackson, who has already agreed personal terms with former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners Chelsea.
And this will come as a blow for Tottenham.
Jackson made 16 starts and 10 substitute appearances in La Liga for Villarreal last season.
The striker scored 12 goals and gave four assists in those games.
