Tottenham Hotspur attacking midfielder James Maddison has been playing well this season, but his performance for England against Ukraine was quite underwhelming.
And the English media did not hold back while analysing it.

James Maddison joined Tottenham Hotspur from Leicester City in the summer transfer window.
Maddison has hit the ground running at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and has been arguably the best player for Spurs so far this campaign.
The £170,000-a-week (The Mirror) 26-year-old has scored two goals and given two assists in four Premier League matches for Tottenham so far this season.
Maddison started for England against Ukraine in European Championship Qualifying Group C on Saturday.
The match ended in a 1-1 draw.
The Spurs star started the game and played for 65 minutes.
England manager Gareth Southgate deployed Maddison on the left of a front-three in a 4-3-3 formation.
During his time on the pitch, the attacking midfielder played one key pass, had a pass accuracy of 93.1%, took 41 touches, made one tackle, and put in one cross.
It was a disappointing performance from Maddison, and the media in England has not held back in their analysis of the former Leicester star.

The Sun gave Maddison 5 out of 10 and wrote: “An opportunity missed for Maddison following his sensational form for Spurs.
“This was only his fourth England appearance and while he saw plenty of the ball, did not do enough with it.
“Could have no complaints over being replaced.”
Sky Sports gave the Tottenham playmaker 6 out of 10 and noted: “Despite a brilliant start to life at Tottenham, Maddison did not bring that form to Poland.
“A lack of tracking back on the left saw former Leicester team-mate Chilwell exposed too often, especially for the opener.
“Booked in the 35th minute for a terrible challenge on Yukhym Konoplya and almost looked to be trying too hard at times, which led to wasted moments
“There was heart, but not a lot of finish. Substituted in the 65th minute.”
The Guardian also gave Maddison 6 out of 10 and observed: “A mixed bag. Some clever runs into pockets opening things up for England but a number of sloppy moments causing frustration.”
