Richarlison is not having the best of times for Tottenham Hotspur and Brazil at the moment, and Brennan Johnson’s performance for Wales this week could convince head coach Ange Postecoglou to play the former Nottingham Forest forward as the number nine.
Tottenham Hotspur signed Brennan Johnson from Nottingham Forest in the summer transfer window.
Brennan Johnson a promising player for Tottenham Hotspur and Wales
Johnson is a very versatile forward who can operate across the front-line.
With Harry Kane having left for Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window, Richarlison has been playing as the main striker upfront.
The Brazil international is really struggling at the moment.
The 26-year-old is unable to score goals for Tottenham, and his international form with Brazil has also suffered.
On the other hand, Brennan Johnson is showing a lot of promise.
On Monday, the 22-year-old was in action for Wales against Latvia away from home in European Championship Qualifying Group D.
Wales won the match 2-0.

Johnson did not score, but the youngster’s performance was praised in the Welshman media.
The 22-year-old led the line for Wales in a 3-4-2-1 formation.
While WalesOnline noted that Johnson did not have the best of times playing up front on his own, it did give him 7 out of 10 in its Player Ratings.

The report said: “A real livewire who had a difficult task playing up front on his own.
“Had a good early chance, a one-v-one, which he skied.
“But general play, both with back to goal and running in behind, was top notch.
“Could have been more clinical.”
During his time on the pitch, Johnson took five shots and one of them was on target, played three key passes, had a pass accuracy of 75%, took 31 touches, attempted three dribbles, made one tackle, and put in two crosses.
Johnson is a very good player, and perhaps in the coming weeks, he could become the main number 9 for Tottenham.
