Reading beat Blackburn 3-2 at the weekend.
Paul McShane has hailed his Reading side after a 3-2 win over Blackburn at the weekend, secured through a last minute winner from George Evans.
Reading bounced back from a 2-0 loss away to Leeds in their previous game, in which the team’s style was criticised by supporters of their opponents.

McShane told Reading’s official club website that the Royals learned from their mistakes against Leeds, and said that manager Jaap Stam spent time going through the tape of the game with them, to help them improve against Blackburn.
He said, commenting on Evans’ winner: “It was a great finish into the corner! It was great to see because we’d talked about the chances we created but didn’t take against Leeds earlier in the week.
“And it was brilliant for the manager – he picked out clips form the Leeds game, he showed us what we should be doing, what different decisions we can make and I think that definitely helped us in that situation at the end on Saturday evening.”

Reading’s win ensured they stayed in third position in the Championship table, and it was a much needed victory with teams below them, including Leeds, winning.
The Royals adjusted somewhat against Blackburn in comparison to their midweek match. They had only 268 passes inside their own half, in comparison to 440 against Leeds, although the figure was still the most in the Championship all weekend.
Stam evidently tweaked the team’s approach in an effort to get them to be more direct, while sticking to his philosophy, and while everybody may not like it, the success Reading are enjoying overall this season shows they are on the right track.
