The Arsenal youngster has been linked with a temporary move to Glasgow Rangers

The January transfer window is open and Rangers will be looking to add to their squad as they aim to close the gap on Celtic and Aberdeen.
One player who has been linked with a move to Ibrox is Arsenal youngster Marcus McGuane, with the midfielder a candidate to join on loan, as reported by The Scottish Sun.
Although his only prior experience of senior football consists of two substitute appearances for Arsenal in the Europa League this season, McGuane could well prove to be an inspired signing for Rangers and would provide them with greater steel in midfield.

Hugely effective at breaking up play, McGuane, an England youth international, is also excellent at playing short, snappy passes to his team-mates.
McGuane is not the most spectacular player but he is able to perform simple tasks very well indeed and is extremely hardworking, while, despite being just 18, he also has good leadership qualities.

Earlier in the season McGuane filled in at centre-back for Arsenal U23s, which helped to improve his overall game, while he has also shown at that level that he is capable of providing a significant threat in an attacking sense.
McGuane is out of contract at Arsenal at the end of the season and if he was to impress at Rangers and a deal suited both parties it wouldn’t be entirely surprising if he joined the club on a permanent basis.
For now, though, a loan move to Rangers could work out very well for McGuane, with Scottish football offering the ideal platform for plenty of teenage talents before him.
