Ross McCormack celebrates with team mates after he scores Aston Villa’s first goal
New Aston Villa signing Ross McCormack has suggested that when his side’s attacking players click there will not be many who will be able to stand in their way, the Mirror report.
Villa have experienced an interesting summer since their relegation from the Premier League, what with new ownership and a number of new players walking through the door.
Newly-appointed boss Roberto Di Matteo hasn’t been shy in adding to the Villa squad, and one addition which really caught the eye was the signing of one of the Championship’s most lethal scorers in McCormack.

The former Fulham man grabbed his first goal for the club in the 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town, and he suggests plenty more is to come when he and his teammates begin to click.
McCormack told the Mirror. “There’s five or six new boys, and a few more coming in. We need time to know each other’s games and when it clicks we’ll be on our way.
“You can see myself, Grealish, Ayew and Gestede are a good four. When it clicks, it will be dangerous,”

Villa’s attacking quartet have shown in flashes this season what they are capable of, with fellow forward Rudy Gestede netting a brace in the 3-0 win over Rotherham United last weekened.
The Villans suffered a disastrous campaign last year and shaking off that losing mentality can be a tough ask, yet there is no doubt Di Matteo has a quality squad to work with and patience will be key.
After Villa’s trip to Derby County, the Midlands side then face Bristol City at Aston Gate before back-to-back home games against another Midlands side in Nottingham Forest and then Brentford.
