Leeds twice fought back but their makeshift defence without injured duo Pontus Jansson and Liam Cooper found it tough to contain Scotland international McBurnie.
One player went to desperate lengths to get to grips with McBurnie, with Leeds full-back Barry Douglas manhandling him.
McBurnie saw the funny side after seeing a screengrab of the incident after the match.
Swansea will be the more aggrieved of the two teams not to claim all three points after twice going in front.
As far as the Championship table is concerned, McBurnie’s Swansea sit in third place, with Leeds the current leaders with 10 points from a possible 12.
