Former Premier League star believes Leeds United need new ownership
Jason McAteer
Former Liverpool defender Jason McAteer has called for Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino to be bought out.
The retired star made the comments after Steve Evans was fired, the sixth coach Cellino has fired at Leeds since he took over in 2014.
McAteer made the comments on Twitter, offering the opinion that the Leeds owner was a ‘disgrace’.
Like many, McAteer believes Cellino is failing to maximise Leeds United’s huge potential, by failing to offer them the stability they need to be successful.
Leeds manager Steve Evans
Steve Evans did little wrong during his time in charge to indicate he should be sacked, not given the benefit of a proper transfer window with backing to show what he could bring to the club.
Leeds are no closer to the Premier League than when Cellino took over, and the next head coach in will surely know that without a play-off push then they too will be fired, if they get the entire season that is, with each of the Italian’s previous summer appointments quickly dismissed.
