Rangers are reportedly set to bring Jon Flanagan to Ibrox.

Rangers assistant manager Gary McAllister has told STV that he thinks imminent signing Jon Flanagan will ‘bring a lot’ to the club as a move draws ever closer.
New manager Steven Gerrard has been backed with five new signings this summer, as Allan McGregor, Nikola Katic, Connor Goldson, Scott Arfield and Ovie Ejaria have all arrived.
More signings are expected this summer though, and Rangers now appear to closing in on a sixth new face to boost Gerrard’s options at Ibrox.

The Daily Record reported earlier today that Jon Flanagan has flown out to Spain in order to undergo a medical with Rangers, ahead of signing a deal to reunite with Steven Gerrard.
Full back Flanagan, 25, played with Gerrard at Liverpool, and was particularly important in the 2013-14 season under now-Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers, with some impressive displays in the Reds’ back line.
However, Flanagan has struggled with injuries ever since, making just 28 appearances, whilst off-field misdemeanours have also damaged his career, though he did spend the second half of last season on loan with Bolton Wanderers.
Now released by Liverpool, Flanagan is a free agent, and he looks set to join Rangers imminently, where he is likely to offer cover for star right back James Tavernier.

Ahead of a deal being completed, Gerrard’s assistant Gary McAllister has told STV that he thinks Flanagan is a ‘strong character’ and can handle huge expectation having played for Liverpool, adding that he will ‘bring a lot’ to Rangers.
“We know Flanagan pretty well,” said McAllister. “Steven has played alongside him, he’s a strong character and the big thing is that he’s played for a club where the expectation is so high.”
“That’s not dissimilar to Rangers, where that expectation is still there. You are under the microscope every minute of every game, so we’re confident he can cope with that. He’s versatile across the back line, he’ll bring a lot,” he added.
