West Ham United’s Angelo Ogbonna has targeted more of the same from his team after another 1-0 win in the Premier League.

West Ham United defender Angelo Ogbonna has been speaking to the club’s official website in the wake of their win over fellow strugglers Sunderland and has set his sights on maintaining a good level of performance in the weeks to come.

The Hammers made it three games unbeaten for the first time this season after a goal from Winston Reid salvaged an invaluable three points at the London Stadium – something of a rarity thus far in this campaign.

But, having not tasted defeat all through October, Ogbonna is confident that his side will continue to thrive if they keep performing as they did on Saturday.

In an interview with the official West Ham website, Ogbonna said: “It was really hard to get back, because Sunderland wanted to move away from the bottom of the league and it was an important win.

“If we keep this level of performance it will be good for us. Step-by-step, the Premier League is a really tough league, so we have to be focused.”

Ogbonna had a hand to play in the Hammers’ torrid start to the season, including playing in both legs of the disastrous Europa League play-off against Astra Giurgiu, but has seen the ship steadied over the last three weeks with a draw against Middlesbrough and two 1-0 wins over Crystal Palace and Sunderland.

West Ham face Chelsea for the second time this season on Wednesday night in the EFL Cup and then travel to Goodison Park to play a stuttering Everton team.
