Ruben Loftus-Cheek has shone at Crystal Palace but faces an uncertain future at Chelsea. Should Newcastle United look at him this summer?

Newcastle United may want to take note as Ruben Loftus-Cheek has provided an update on his future ahead of an uncertain summer.
It is not often homegrown talent gets much of a look-in at Stamford Bridge, so as Loftus-Cheek’s loan at Palace comes to an end, could this be a great opportunity for Newcastle to snap him up?

While being far from the finished product, the 22-year-old has shown flashes of brilliance at Selhurst Park this season, winning his first England caps and not looking at all out of place on the international stage.
Rafael Benitez has not exactly settled on a first-choice central midfield pairing this season, so there seems room at St James’ Park for the addition of this highly-rated young talent.
While we are dealing with very different clubs and very different times, Benitez has shown in the past that he can launch the careers of talented young English players, having been key in the development of Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher during his time in charge of Liverpool.

At Newcastle, the Spanish tactician has also helped the likes of Jamaal Lascelles and Jonjo Shelvey raise their games, while another Chelsea youngster, Kenedy, has come on leaps and bounds in a short space of time on loan there this term.
Loftus-Cheek has plenty to offer under the right manager and, if he plays regularly, Newcastle should ensure they snap up potentially the bargain of the summer in the coming months.
