Eddie Howe knows Danny Ings well and sent him a classy message ahead of Sunday’s clash between Liverpool and Bournemouth, which the Anfield outfit won at a canter.
Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has shown he’s a true gent by outlining thoughts of of goodwill on Liverpool striker Danny Ings.
The pair worked together at Bournemouth and Burnley in the past, and it’s clear Howe has not forgotten about his former player and the struggles he’s been through.
Ings shone at Burnley before earning himself a big move to Liverpool in the summer of 2015, but he’s since had a nightmare with injuries and has barely played for the Reds. Howe hopes to see the 25-year-old recover and says, he’d like to see him back among the goals soon.
“He was a great lad. Someone who I instantly liked and came from humble beginnings with a tough journey through the youth team, Howe told the Bournemouth Echo.
“We are very proud of him to go through the youth set-up here and go on to play for Liverpool, I think that is a great journey for our young players.
“He has not had it easy, he has had to do it the hard way and I have a lot of respect for him.”
Ings didn’t feature in the Liverpool game against Bournemouth Saturday, named as substitute but remaining on the bench. Liverpool won 3-0 with goals from Mane, Salah (his 40th of the season) and Firmino.
