West Ham have now been mentioned as a potential destination for Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino.
What’s the story?
Well, it was transfer specialist Alex Crook who told talkSPORT that David Moyes could sign the Brazil international.
Speaking alongside Danny Murphy and Ade Oladipo, Crook said: “I could see Firmino leaving, certainly in the summer, if not this month. I think there will be clubs looking at Firmino, maybe West Ham, who need firepower. Half of the Premier League would want Firmino if he became available.”
It comes amid an uncertain time for the South American at Anfield.
Firmino’s contract expires at the end of the season, and he could even leave Liverpool this month.
The Daily Mail believe Liverpool’s No.9 would prefer to stay at Anfield, although there is interest from Juventus, Atlético Madrid and also Al-Nassr, who want to pair him with Cristiano Ronaldo.

Firmino has enjoyed a decent season for the Reds so far, scoring seven goals – while also providing three assists – in 13 Premier League appearances.
Since arriving at Liverpool in 2015, the Brazilian has scored 78 Premier League goals in 244 outings – he has also registered 49 assists, winning one Premier League title.
West Ham do not need Firmino
In our view, it would be a foolish move if West Ham signed Firmino.
Moyes has bigger issues to address as the Hammers find themselves 17th in the Premier League, with the full-back and centre-back departments in need of strengthening.
As talented as he is, Firmino turns 32 this year, so he would not represent a long-term option for West Ham up top, while he would also command a significant salary.
Furthermore, Moyes already has Michail Antonio and Gianluca Scamacca, so he isn’t exactly short of quality options.
Nevertheless, anything could happen in the January transfer window, so make sure to keep an eye out for further developments.
