Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has suggested that Thiago will not play against Real Madrid in the Champions League final next weekend due to injury, as quoted on BBC Sport.

Klopp has said that he thinks that the hamstring injury that Liverpool midfielder Thiago picked up against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield in the final Premier League game of the season on Sunday is bad.

Premier League club Liverpool and La Liga outfit Real Madrid will face each other in the final of the Champions League next weekend.

Thiago injury update ahead of Liverpool v Real Madrid

BBC Sport quotes Klopp as saying about Thiago: ”I think he’ll be out of the final but I don’t know. He’s limping, so it’s maybe not the best sign.”

Big blow

In our view, Thiago potentially not playing for Liverpool against Real Madrid in the final of the Champions League this season is a massive blow for the Reds.

Thiago is one of the best midfielders in the world who can dominate proceedings in the middle of the park.

The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich star is a very cultured midfielder, and Liverpool need someone like him against the Madrid midfield of Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and Casemiro.

After all, we know how good Madrid are and how they beat Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Manchester City on their way to the Champions League final.
