Reported Crystal Palace target Jordan Amavi insists that he is happy at Marseille but could leave the Ligue 1 giants as his contract runs down, as he told France Football.

With Patrick Van Aanholt due to become a free agent in July, a long-serving Selhurst Park favourite appears to be on his way out of the Premier League, leaving Roy Hodgson – and Fantasy Football players everywhere – scrambling around for a replacement.

But while one attack-minded left-back looks set to depart on a free transfer, another could arrive in his place.

According to the Mail, the Londoners want to sign former Aston Villa youngster Amavi from Marseille; a readymade replacement and, at 26, a younger model.

L’OM boss Andre Villas-Boas has made it clear that he is desperate for Amavi to stay, hailing the his transformation into one of France’s finest full-backs, but contract talks remain at a frustrating standstill.

“There are several desires. I am very happy in Marseille. But we do not know what tomorrow is made of,” Amavi explained.

“So, I don’t really know (what my future holds). Maybe I won’t be here anymore. We will see how it all progresses.”

Marseille paid £9 million to sign Amavi in 2017 after a short-lived and injury-hit spell at Villa Park.

The former France U21 flyer played a major role as L’OM qualified for the Champions League for the first time in nearly a decade last season.
