Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react after Brighton posted a tweet ahead of this Saturday’s clash at the Amex Stadium.
What’s the story?
Well, Brighton’s tweet merely says ‘Arsenal at home is next’ – however, that isn’t what seems to have riled up the Gunners fans.
Brighton have also included a photo of Neal Maupay performing a crybaby gesture, in what seems like a deliberate attempt to wind Arsenal up.
After all, the Frenchman has a bit of beef with the north Londoners.
Firstly, he wound up the Gunners after scoring a late winner against them at the Emirates Stadium in December 2019.
That seemed to provoke a feisty reverse fixture at the Amex Stadium in June 2020, as Matteo Guendouzi strangled Maupay on the south coast.
According to the Daily Mail, Guendouzi boasted about his earnings and said the Brighton players were, well, not very good at football – in a slightly more offensive way.
It came after the Brighton No.9 injured Bernd Leno, causing him to leave the field on a stretcher with his accusing finger pointed at the striker.

It’s safe to say there’s a bit of bad blood between Brighton and Arsenal, and the photo of Maupay pretending to wipe away tears has only added fuel to the fire.
Will Arsenal beat Brighton?
In our view, Mikel Arteta’s side will walk this game.
The Seagulls really struggled against Crystal Palace on Monday, and had a late lapse of concentration to thank for their undeserved point.
Yes, Graham Potter has overseen a good start with four wins from six Premier League games, although they have had favourable fixtures.

Brighton have only beaten the likes of Burnley and Watford, and are yet to come up against an in-form side this season.
With Arsenal on a three-game winning run in the Premier League, we feel the Gunners will bring Brighton crashing back down to Earth.
For now, let’s see what the Arsenal fans on Twitter have been saying about Brighton’s pre-match tweet…
