Tottenham Hotspur allowed Maxwell Statham to take part in first-team training today.

Tottenham Hotspur are preparing for this weekend’s clash with Burnley, with players photographed in training ahead of the trip to Turf Moor.
The big news of course surrounded striker Harry Kane, as the Spurs talisman was back in full training for the first time since his ankle injury against Manchester United in January.
Vincent Janssen was also spotted in training, but eagle eyed Tottenham fans spotted somebody else gearing up for Saturday’s game.
In the above photo of Erik Lamela, there is a player towards the back of the shot that some fans aren’t too familiar with.
That’s defender Maxwell Statham, with the teenage defender given a chance to train with the club’s first team, as Mauricio Pochettino so often encourages at Spurs.
Statham, 18, is a centre back and the son of former Tottenham defender Brian Statham, who made 24 appearances for the club having come up through the youth system.

The current Spurs talent may be hoping for similar, but with his contract expiring at the end of the season, his future may lie away from North London.
Football.London even note that Statham has been on trial with Championship side Norwich Cit recently, making his step up to first-team training at Spurs all the more intriguing.
