Tottenham are keen to get business done early.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has insisted he is keen for the club to get transfer business done before the World Cup, The Times report.

Spurs have been notoriously slow in the transfer market in recent summer, but this summer’s tournament in Russia has provided them with reason to get players in before their values increase and competition increases.

The player Spurs should be going all in on is Uruguayan ace Maxi Gomez, Spanish media outlet Cadena Ser reported is already on their radar.

Gomez is just 21-years-old and has scored 13 goals in La Liga this season for Celta Vigo.

His performances have earned him a call up into Uruguay’s national team and he has featured as a substitute in their last four friendly matches.

While Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani are clear first choice attackers, if anything was to happen to either, Gomez would be in line for a big role, and could seize his chance off the bench.

The exciting forward is a hidden gem despite his performances for Celta this season, and if Tottenham are looking for value right now, he is their man.

If they wait until after the tournament, it could be too late to get him.
