Max Stryjek has not been given a game by Sunderland so far this season.
Stryjek is currently behind Jon McLaughlin and Robbin Ruiter in the pecking order for places in Sunderland’s goal.
And the 22-year-old stopper has suggested that he wants more game time now.
“I’ve chatted with Jack Ross about it and I said to him at the beginning of the season that I’m not happy with being number three goalkeeper, especially after a good pre-season spell when I played really well with the first-team and was performing well in training,” he said.
“I just said to him, if you don’t want me in the team then let me go on loan and show what I can do.
“I came back from Eastleigh and the plan was to let me go again, somewhere higher, but for different reasons I didn’t go.”
Stryjek did impress on his loan spell at Eastleigh when he left Sunderland early on in the season.
However, he has not made a first-team appearance for the Black Cats this term in League One.
The Polish stopper is regarded as a good prospect for the future at Sunderland, but whether he will stick around without regular action remains to be seen.
When at Eastleigh Stryjek kept five clean sheets in 13 matches, suggesting he could have a good career ahead of him.
