Tottenham target Max Meyer is back at Schalke after a summer break.
The German winger has been linked with Spurs for the past year and has only one year remaining on his contract.
Yet there has been no move from Tottenham, who are yet to make any signings this transfer window.
Meyer returned to Schalke at the weekend after an extended summer break due to his involvement at the Under-21 European Championships.

He is working with new manager Domenico Tedesco and is feeling tentatively positive at this stage.
He told Der Westen: “He is a young coach who is very motivated and very open with the players.
“He does very good training. Everyone is here with a lot of fun.”

Talking about not having his own role yet defined in his manager’s system, he added: “I am completely relaxed, I can be used variably. I can play left, right, and in the middle.”
Meyer appears open to the possibility to staying put at Schalke, and the fresh start is just what the 21-year-old needed.
Last season was a disappointing one for the 21-year-old, which saw him start only 18 Bundesliga games and scoring once.
Meyer needs a big campaign to make Germany’s World Cup squad next summer.
While his new contract remains unsigned, Tottenham have a chance of snapping him up for a bargain fee or even on a free next summer.
But at present it appears Meyer is very content and the positive words could yet lead to the contract renewal the German side are hoping for.
A tempting offer from Tottenham at this stage could throw everything up in the air again.
