Taking a closer look at a player allegedly on Tottenham Hotspur’s radar.
According to a report from the London Evening Standard, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Max Kruse from German side Borussia Monchengladbach.
Citing stories from the player’s homeland, the report suggests Tottenham would be willing to pay the 27-year-old’s £9million release-clause in order to add to their strike-force next season.
So how does Kruse compare with the current strikers at White Hart Lane?

As you can see from the statistics above, the German international’s league form fares well when compared with both Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado, which is no surprise given that duos’ failure to hit the heights under manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Kruse’s passing accuracy is the best of the bunch, while his 10 Bundesliga goals are good by many people’s standards, even if the prolific Harry Kane has netted twice as many in the Premier League.
The alleged Tottenham target also averages more key passes per league appearance than any of the Spurs trio, while his eight assists are impressive and show he is a player who can not only score but also create for others.
As a back-up option or a potential partner for Kane, Kruse would no doubt be an effective addition, but would he really swap his homeland for a stint in London? Only time will tell.
