The German hitman would be a superb addition to the West Bromwich Albion squad.

Baggies boss Tony Pulis will be looking to add an accomplished striker to his ranks this summer, as he looks to provide more competition for Salomon Rondon, who his side became far too reliant on last season.

West Brom performed admirably in the Premier League last term, but Pulis will be under no illusions as to the size of the task that awaits him, as he prepares to guide this side to a successful 2017/18 campaign.

With the Black Country outfit in desperate need of more firepower in forward positions, they should consider a move for Werder Bremen hitman Max Kruse, who could be available for as little as £10.4 million this summer, according to German media outlet Sport Bild.

The 29-year-old enjoyed a successful campaign in the Bundesliga last term, scoring 15 goals in 23 league outings for Bremen. He displayed his clinical finishing on a regular basis, and his tenacious playing style makes him an ideal fit for England’s top flight.

He possesses ample pace, and has a wonderful work ethic, along with the rare willingness to make selfless runs into the channels. His style of play would compliment Rondon’s perfectly, with the Venezuelan most dangerous when loitering in and around the six yard box.

Kruse is also technically accomplished, and possesses wonderfully tight ball control in compact spaces – something that would help improve upon the fluidity of West Brom’s attacking play.

The Baggies won’t have things all their own way in their pursuit of the German, however, should they decide to make a concrete offer for him, with Sport Bild citing numerous clubs’ interest in the forward, including West Ham United.

The opportunity of regular first-team football at the Hawthorns, however, could be enough to tip the scales in West Brom’s favour.
