Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria is impressing this season, and he’s now seemingly attracting major Premier League interest.

Zakaria, 22, emerged as a top young talent in Switzerland, and having impressed with Young Boys, he earned a big move to Germany with Gladbach in 2017.

The powerful midfielder has continued his progression in the Bundesliga, and his performances so far this season are really turning heads, who is valued at around €50million (£43million).

Sport Bild reported earlier this month that Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are both keen on Zakaria, with Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund also linked.

Now, Sky Germany claim that Arsenal and Liverpool have joined the race, meaning the Premier League’s elite clubs are really looking at Zakaria with a view to a 2020 move.

Quick, strong, talented on the ball and able to break up play, Zakaria can either play in front of the back four or as a box-to-box player, but Gladbach understandably aren’t keen to sell.

Sporting director Max Eberl has claimed to SportBuzzer that there is no release clause in Zakaria’s contract, and guarantees that he won’t sell in January, but acknowledges that there will be interest in his players with so many talented players at the club.

“First of all, we have everything in hand, because there is no clause,” said Eberl. “I can definitely rule out a winter transfer. But we’ve always realized that, especially when we’re successful, we have a huge perception of what our players are doing. Again we have an extremely exciting, young squad,” he added.
