Ajax defender Davinson Sanchez is reportedly wanted by Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.
According to The Guardian, Tottenham are closing in on the signing of Sanchez from Dutch giants Ajax for a transfer fee that could rise to £42 million.
Spurs will pay Ajax an initial transfer fee of £28m in order to secure the services of the central defender, with up to £14m in performance-related bonuses, according to the report.
A deal between the two clubs has been agreed in principle over the transfer of the 21-year-old Colombia international centre-back, claims The Guardian.

Tottenham manager Pochettino, though, has refused to confirm the speculation, sticking to his stance of not commenting on situation surrounding other clubs’ players.
“I think like always I never speak about rumours,” Pochettino told Football.London when asked if Sanchez is going to be Tottenham’s first signing.
“Not only our fans, we expect to sign some players before the end of the transfer window. I think that is our aim and to try to improve our squad and try to bring new faces and energy into the team, because it will be a long season and we need to add some new faces into the squad.”

Tottenham kicked off their 2017-18 Premier League campaign with a 2-0 victory over Newcastle United away from home at St. James’ Park last weekend.
Spurs will take on London rivals Chelsea at the Wembley Stadium in their next league game this weekend.
