The Tottenham Hotspur pair are currently out injured.

Mauricio Pochettino addressed the media yesterday, ahead of his side’s Carabao Cup semi-final clash with Chelsea at Wembley tonight, and delivered a short response when asked whether Mousa Dembele and Jan Vertonghen are ready to feature in the match, as quoted by Football.London.
Spurs have a number of key players currently out injured, and it really is a credit to them that they are still involved in all four competitions that they entered at the start of the season.
Two players in particular who Tottenham will be desperate to have back are Belgian duo Mousa Dembele and Jan Vertonghen, but it seems as though tonight’s clash with Chelsea has come too soon for the pair.
Pochettino spoke to reporters yesterday, and delivered a blunt response when asked if either player is fit enough to start this evening’s clash, as quoted by Football.London:

“No.”
He then responded when asked whether either Dembele or Vertonghen will at least be in the squad:
“No”
Pochettino does have plenty of options to fill in for the experienced duo, but the Tottenham squad is being stretched to the limit, and they cannot afford to suffer any more injuries between now and the end of the season, if they are to have any chance whatsoever of ending their 11-year wait for a major trophy.
