Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has clarified the comments he made after the defeat to Manchester United last weekend.

Following Tottenham’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester United at the Wembley Stadium in the semi-finals of the FA Cup last weekend, Pochettino made some worrying comments about his future.
The Argentine boss said, as quoted by The Sun: “Tottenham need more time with me or with another, but the most important thing is to keep going and keep developing that philosophy that is fantastic for this club.”
Pochettino has now clarified those remarks and has allayed Tottenham fans’ concerns about his future, with many Spurs supporters worried, as reported on HITC Sport (click here to read more).

The Spurs boss told Football.London when asked to clarify his previous comments: “I think we need to…the problem is the context of the question. For me I am going to say the same, Tottenham is doing a fantastic job, developing an amazing project.
“Only I wanted to tell you that it’s a long term project, that is not going to change with us or another coaching staff. But it’s because it’s so strong the project at Tottenham. It’s not a message to send to someone.”
“Only need I want to translate that we need time, we need time to achieve all that we want,” added Pochettino. “The good thing is that we are competing with the top sides that choose different ways to build that success.”

Staying at Tottenham Hotspur
Pochettino is one of the best managers in the world at the moment and has done a wonderful job at Tottenham, and one should not be surprised if big clubs come calling for him in the summer.
However, it is hard to see the Argentine leave Spurs anytime soon, and his aforementioned comments suggest that he is not planning for life after Spurs, and that he is fully committed to the North London club.
Tottenham fans should also be pleased that Pochettino is to stay, as he has been key to the North London outfit’s rise in recent years.
Spurs are very much in the running for the Champions League places this season and could finish in the top four of the Premier League for the third year in a row.
