Tottenham Hotspur failed to sign a single player during the summer transfer window.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino addressed the media last night, ahead of his side’s Champions League clash with PSV Eindhoven tonight, and insisted that signing players is not the best way to help his team overcome adversity, as quoted by Football.London.
Spurs have begun their 2018/19 campaign in mixed fashion. They currently sit in fifth spot in the Premier League table, having won seven of their opening nine league outings.
The Lilywhites have lost both of their opening two Champions League matches, however, and face an uphill battle if they are to qualify for the knock-out stages of the competition.
Pochettino found himself to be the target of criticism from some sections of the Tottenham support in the summer, after failing to sign a single player.
The Argentine defended his lack of transfer activity, however, when speaking to reporters ahead of tonight’s clash with PSV, as quoted by Football.London:

“I think it’s not about signing players or not to face the adversity. To face the adversity is to be strong, mentally strong and physically strong and be available always to work hard and minimise the impact of the adversity. I don’t believe the way to change that is to sign players.”
Despite Pochettino’s comments on how his side need to overcome adversity, it has been clear for everyone to see this season that his side lack that little bit of extra quality needed to challenge on all fronts.
And Tottenham fans will surely be far from happy to read the Argentine’s latest remarks.
