Tottenham Hotspur are yet to make a new signing this summer.

Liverpool are set to continue their 2018 spending spree, as Sky Sports report that Roma goalkeeper Alisson is set for a medical with the club after a £67million deal was agreed on Wednesday.
The Reds clearly needed a goalkeeper given Loris Karius’ nightmare in the Champions League final against Real Madrid and in pre-season, and Jurgen Klopp has now pounced to land his top target.
The Brazilian international, 25, is now all set for a move to Anfield, and Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino must be glancing at Liverpool’s transfer business with some level of jealousy.
In 2018 alone, Liverpool have spent £75million on Virgil van Dijk (BBC Sport) and £43.7million on Fabinho (The Telegraph), whilst they Xherdan Shaqiri has joined the club, and Naby Keita’s move from RB Leipzig – worth more than £48million (BBC Sport) – has gone through too.
Conversely, Tottenham haven’t made a single signing this summer, and their only addition of 2018 was winger Lucas Moura in January, and the Brazilian has yet to really make a huge impact.
Whilst Liverpool did sell Philippe Coutinho in January, but it’s now around £200million spent on new signings in 2018, and around £250million if you include Keita, who starts his Liverpool career this summer.

Liverpool now appear to have a team set up to challenge Manchester City next season, with the investment giving the Reds a superb side – and they look to be pulling away from Spurs ahead of the new Premier League season.
Pochettino would no doubt love that kind of money to spend on his side, or even half of that, with Tottenham failing to make any additions this summer – and he would be forgiven for looking at Liverpool’s spending and wondering whether he will ever get similar backing from Daniel Levy.
