Mauricio Pochettino has put pen to paper on a new long-term contract at Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has told the Tottenham Journal that the structure of the club needs to improve.
Pochettino suggested at his press conference earlier that there are differences between his job at Spurs to the one that he had at Southampton.
The Argentine boss also stated that he was not a ‘manager’, but a ‘head coach’ – meaning his responsibilities were different.
Pochettino now wants to improve the structure of the club, although he did not go on record to further qualify the specifics of that remark.
“I don’t want to speak about the past,” he said. “We need to improve in our structure. My responsibility is to get positive results in the future and the next few games. This is my job now.
“What needs to improve in the structure? Maybe this question is not for me. My idea is always to try to improve. Nothing is perfect – always we need to improve.”
Pochettino put pen to paper on a five year deal earlier in the week, so it is safe to assume that he has been given assurances from Daniel Levy.
Spurs will now be aiming to build for the future, as they look to replicate their current form for the years ahead.
Tottenham have improved dramatically this season, and they now appear to have become title contenders for the years ahead.
Spurs’ task will now be to protect their place in the top four, as the Lilywhites look to become Champions League regulars.
